About Me I'm married and have been living in Cambridge with my family for the past 6 years. I originally trained as a scientist but gave up work when my second baby was born. The arrival of my first baby awakened my interest in pregnancy and birth but it was supporting a friend through her birth (you can read more about this here in an article from the Daily Telegraph) which prompted me to take the step to train as a doula with Michel Odent, the pioneering French obstetrician in 2007. As a doula I aim to create the most comfortable and nurturing atmosphere, whether at home, in hospital or in a birthing centre where you can listen to what your body is telling you, enabling you to have a positive birth experience. I have supported women planning: births at home and at hospital; first-time and experienced mothers; water and 'dry-land' births; VBACs (vaginal births after cesarean) and repeat cesareans. I am a member of Doula UK and abide by their standards and Code of Practice. |
